Humans seldom do what they say they do. And very rarely what they are told to do.
We have all been there. Someone tells us to do this or that and we readily say ‘Yes, of course’, and go do something completely different. Not because we are obstinate or deliberately obstructive and certainly not because we don’t care. It’s just that we probably weren’t listening, or we filtered out part of the message because we subconsciously didn’t agree, didn’t really want to do it, had something else on our mind or just didn’t like the way the message was delivered.
